Dr. Susanne Glynn, LMSW, Ph.D.

Licensed Social Worker

Dr. Susanne Glynn earned her master’s in social work degree from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D from Ohio State University. Dr. Glynn worked as a social worker and psychotherapist in various clinical settings in Michigan and Ohio. Dr. Glynn worked in many agencies including Community Mental Health & Family Services, as a group and individual therapist for inpatient and day treatment programs, and in private practice. Dr. Glynn specializes in women’s and family issues. Her Ph.D. research and dissertation explored issues of infertility and models of grief and loss through depth narratives.

Dr. Glynn then served on the social work faculty of several universities in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan, specializing in teaching human development, research, clinical skills in individual/family/couples/group work, and designing courses in women’s issues and international social work.

Since relocating in this area several years ago, she has been elected to and served in local government, taught graduate courses at the University Center for Grand Valley State University, and worked in the Partial Hospitalization program at Munson Hospital. She currently teaches behavioral health classes for a weight management program and now joins our staff to offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Her special interests focus on women and depression, grief and loss, family therapy, and issues related to aging.
